PRODUCT STRATEGY / CORE POSITIONING

Make cross-app search an almost effortless habit.

SeekHop is designed for desktop operating systems, helping people go from the content in front of them directly to the target search site. It stays simple and puts its effort into speed, reliability, and privacy.desktop search router

Selected text read · Quick-search preview

One short path · ready whenever you are

Search without leaving the work in front of you.

SeekHop reduces cross-app search to one reliable action. Everyday use does not require you to learn complex concepts, and extra capability stays out of the quick window.

  1. 01 / SELECT

    Select text

Stay in the current app and select the word, sentence, or passage you want to search.

  2. 02 / SHORTCUT

    Press your shortcut

Open the window with your chosen global shortcut; the current content is already in place.

  3. 03 / ENTER

    Press Enter

The default site is clearly selected. Confirm to reach its results, then let the window get out of your way.

  • A reliable default site

Keep a familiar destination in the same place. Press Enter to search instead of choosing again every time.

  • Switch destinations quickly

Use number keys, aliases, or site names to switch to another kind of search.

  • One query, multiple sites

When comparison matters, send the same content to several sites in one step.

  • Fit your own order

Customize sites, their order, and search groups so the tool gradually fits the way you work.

Depth behind a simple interface

Quiet on the surface, reliable in the details

The quick window keeps only the current action. Selection fallback, clipboard handling, window position, and configuration migration follow an understandable path to completion.

  • Read selected text as reliably as possible, with a fallback path you can understand.
  • Protect and restore the existing clipboard whenever possible, so current work is interrupted less.
  • Remember window position and adapt to multiple monitors and different desktop environments.
  • Do not write ordinary search text to history, diagnostics, configuration, or telemetry.
  • Support local configuration backup, import, export, and migration so you can keep using it on a new machine.

Read support information
What is SeekHop, and what is it not?
SeekHop is a desktop search router: it sends the content in front of you to the information source you choose. It is not a file or app launcher, a search-result aggregator, or an AI chat or auto-answer tool. SeekHop helps you reach the right information source; it does not read or answer for you.
Can I download the Windows version now?
Downloads are not available on the website yet. Once the official installer, version number, system requirements, file size, and signing details are confirmed, the site will provide a clear download path. Publicly delivered versions will only be recorded in the release notes.
What are Free, Core, Core + Cloud, and Cloud?
Free is a permanent $0 local core experience: it has no required account, time limit, or local-search quota, and includes 8 direct home sources plus 8 preselected @ extensions. Core is a one-time local license for one currently activated physical device, priced at $24 at launch and $29 list, that unlocks immediate access to the full maintained source library, unlimited sources, and full @ search. Cloud is a separate opt-in annual service for sync, online backup, recovery, OCR, and other ongoing online costs: its current planned price is $15/year and its future list price is $20/year. The $34 launch bundle includes Core and the first Cloud year; its list value is $44. Purchasing and delivery are not open yet.
Why can I not sign in or purchase yet?
The public site currently introduces the product; the account, payment, and delivery systems have not been connected yet. The site will not substitute fake sign-in, fake orders, or inactive download links for real services. These capabilities will open only when they are ready.
Will search content be uploaded or stored?
Ordinary local search does not pass through SeekHop servers. Search terms, selected text, the full clipboard, full search URLs, and screenshot or OCR text are not written to ordinary server logs. Only when you actively use a clearly labeled online capability will the relevant content be handled as that capability explains.
Does reading selected text affect my clipboard?
SeekHop will first try to read the selection directly. It uses a controlled copy fallback only when needed and then restores the existing clipboard whenever possible. If an app prevents reading, the interface will say so clearly instead of silently replacing clipboard content.
Can I customize search sources?
Yes. Free lets you choose and manage up to 16 immediately available sources: 8 direct home sources and 8 preselected @ extensions, with basic custom sources plus local import, export, and backup. Core removes that ready-source limit and lets @ search the complete maintained directory and your full personal source library directly.
How does a Core license work?
Core is a one-time local license for one currently activated physical device. The purchase email and license are for delivery, recovery, device migration, and license management; ordinary local use should not require repeated sign-in or online verification. Core local capabilities and the updates you are entitled to can continue to be used permanently. Purchasing and activation are not available yet.
When will macOS and Linux be supported?
The current delivery direction is Windows. macOS and Linux are future directions; the site will not promise a date until compatibility scope and delivery dates are confirmed.
Can local configuration be backed up and migrated?
The product plan includes local configuration backup, import, export, and migration. Cloud sync, cloud backup, and recovery are later online capabilities and will open only after they are delivered.
